ABOUT THE SITE
The site of Plaszow is located in Krakow, Poland. The site is a 100 hectare mixture of the former Plaszow Concentration Camp, Liban Quarry, historic Krakus Mound, Jewish Monument and extensive allotments. Due to the enormity of holocaust which took place at Plaszow Concentration Camp and the slave labour of Liban Quarry in WW2, the site is identified as possessing enormous historical value, and the idea of a memorial park is taken into consideration.

CONCEPT
Because of the cluttered, the whole site becomes hard to understand for the visitors. Every part of the site is isolated from the other parts, the circulation system is disorganized, fences and complicated topography block a visitor’s route from one area to another. As a result, lack of consistency becomes the main problem of the site. In the masterplan stage, the concept of linking is applied to create connection between different parts inside the site and different areas outside the site.
strategic relationship between city center and the site.
